The Austin Air “it” has a large particle pre-filter that removes particles easily seen by the naked eye (e.g. dust, hair, and pet dander). This pre-filter can be upgraded to a dual-stage VOC Carbon Wrap that also adsorbs VOCs, chemicals, gases, and odors. Additionally, the Austin Air “it” uses a medical grade HEPA filter to remove 99.97% of all particles larger than 0.3 microns and 99% of all particles larger than 0.1 microns, including viruses, bacteria, molds, spores, and pollen.
