The Asthma Air Study
Our involvement in clinical trials started in 2001 when we were selected by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the country’s number one children’s hospital, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, to take part in an asthma air study.
The aim of the study was to measure how an Austin Air Purifier could help reduce children’s asthma symptoms and minimize visits to the ER. The air purifiers were run in the bedroom at night and in the main family room during the day.
Over a twelve-month period, the children’s asthma improved and the number of visits to the emergency room was reduced dramatically.

How Austin Air Is Different
Testing
The Medical Grade HEPA used in all Austin Air filters has been independently certified to remove 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns. Product tests on flow and vapor, gas, and sub-micron particle removal have been performed by Battelle Laboratories, one of the world’s most respected testing laboratories for the Army Corp of Engineers at the U.S. Army Aberdeen Test Center.
